Ghana is paying dearly with the lives and properties of her citizens for concentrating all her resources and attention on the corona virus pandemic and ignoring other life threatening issues.
Ghana as a developing country has always being faced with one problem after the other ranging from less serious ones to critical issues.
However since the outbreak of this global pandemic, it seems all the attention of the government and the entire country has been shifted towards fighting against the disease while Ghanaians perish in the hands of this ‘plagues’ like road accidents and floods.
It’s a well-known fact in Ghana that auto accidents increase getting to the end of the year.
So far hundreds (100) of lives have being lost with others getting seriously injured in road accidents while our attention is geared towards fighting Covid-19.
Since the beginning of this month September 2020, dozens of auto accidents in the southern belt have being reported to have been caused by bad roads and deteriorated cars which were supposed to have being taken off our roads by the authorities who are now focusing on corona related protocols.
The people of the northern part of the country over the years have always been affected by the opening of the dam in Benin.
However this year, properties worth thousands of cedis and lives were lost to floods caused by the opening of this dam all because our attention was drawn to the covid-19 pandemic.
It is true that the Covid-19 Pandemic is nothing to joke with but let’s not forget that there are other equally important issues taking the lives of innocent Ghanaians.
